This presentation is to investigate and review current literature on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and management of acute COVID-19, as well as COVID-19 associated complications in special populations, particularly pediatrics.
Learning Objectives for Pharmacists:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the epidemiology and pathophysiology of COVID-19
2. Investigate considerations for special populations
3. Distinguish the signs and symptoms of acute COVID-19 infection compared to Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C)
4. Examine the management of MIS-C
5. Explore anticoagulation considerations with COVID-19 in pediatrics
